The Thompson Street Project, a coastal concrete unipod, repurposes approximately half of its predecessor’s structure, including a robust retaining wall and the garage beneath. Ingeniously designed to rest upon a single point of the garage structure, the new concrete ‘Tee’ structure defines the home’s striking façade, standing resilient against the elements.
Crafted to withstand the relentless forces of coastal weathering, the home employs durable materials such as concrete, resistant to salt, humidity, and wind.
Marine-grade roofing materials and stainless steel fixtures further fortify the structure against nature’s onslaught.
Spanning four storeys to adapt to the hillside terrain, the home’s main living area, situated on the third level, offers sweeping ocean views to the northeast and a sheltered terrace to the northwest, shielded from coastal winds.
Under the guidance of Project Architect, Raffaello Rosselli, the home’s design embodies a refined interpretation of the classic beach house aesthetic. Natural materials, exposed roof framing, and light finishes create a serene atmosphere, while custom-designed shutters filter dappled light, casting an ever-changing ambiance throughout the space.
